==2026-06-26 - Underboss Goon Strike==

After some chatting with SAM and ignoring every single hint god nonchalantly mentions, the Owsla Irregulars notice two feisty felinids that appear to want to test their mettle.  Poofy and Stripey imply a non-lethal match in the combat arena, but the characters are mostly uninterested.

Before any more compelling suggestions could be levied, a couple obvious assholes waddle into the bar with their MIL-spec helmets deployed and comically glaring at the team.

The full advance party of the Underboss strike force goons revealed themselves to be: a high-movement H2H combatant and an assassin, they were the advance two and the flashy part of the team, a trio of shock troopers trundled in to be battle sponges and punish anyone going too aggressive, and a stealthy KVANKII robot assassin that tried to sneak in.  Unfortunately for the strike force, PRAMORG has frankly terrifying awareness at this stage, and totally undermined every stealthy attempt and allowed the Owsla Irregulars to paste the assassins whenever they tried to get an acquire.  Without the surprising insta-death capability, the Underboss goons basically ran into a meat grinder, and had to abort - especially after the Kvankii got dropped.

It appeared a little too obvious that they were hoping to enrage the team with a cheap assassination and then run away and lure them outside of the bar into an ambush.  So they didn't.  Instead they managed to tamper the Kvankii offline, even as it was self-repairing.  And they took its impressively massive needle beam.

==2026-07-05 - Technician Guild==

After the Underboss attempt, the team dragged the technically-floating Kvankii and its needle beam to a tactically-favourable spot in the bar to spend a little while healing and waiting out the probable ambush.

Or, at least, that was the intent.  As they left the region of the entrance, the hulking Groten bouncer moseyed over and informed them that 3D weapons were technically "assault" class, and not allowed in the bar.  Instead it was kept for them at the door kiosk - along with SHEOG's grenades.

+

While they were healing, a mysterious trio of nervous-seeming high-skilled individuals entered the bar, clocked the location of the team, and waited patiently nearby.  After some good healing was complete, they introduced themselves, and asked if they could hire the team for security.  They represented the TECHNICIAN GUILD, and had a tale of repression and injustice.

Which was all well and good, but the team still felt they had a possible ambush situation outside and a Kvankii captive to account for.  Through some wrangling, they were able to access the bar's interior sensors, which afforded a view through the doorway suitable for basic tactical needs.  Plus they were also granted access to the comms system, though with limited proxy via the external sensors for making contact.

First, they determined that there were indeed people outside the bar, but they did not have an overtly ambush intent about them.  More of a lingering vibe.

Next, they contacted the Kvankii's.  Some shuffling of comms happened, then they had limited conversation with an unimaginative and emotionally stunted being that was not very helpful.  They were given an ultimatum - that if they would return their colleague, then they would ensure that one of them was as uninjured as it was.  The team was unimpressed, and instead decided to add a hologram of a tapdancing Hopper on top of the disabled Kvankii.  Animated hologram courtesy of Papa Hopper, who - oh, by the way - is a mathematician, and hacked into the teams secure core battlewiki.  Fun times.

Finally the team ventured out of the bar, and discovered that the majority of the lingering folk were actually fans, who whooped and gave various gestures of approval.  They were lead into the building housing the Technician Guild, full of fascinating technical gadgetry - whups, never mind - 2/3<sup>rds</sup> of the players were falling asleep, so time to pick that up next session.
