 You settle into orbit around Gigas and are given a view of a city.  An advisor visits you and tells you that they’ve received the rules of the game.  The city is phase 1.  You’ll need to spend 100 hours there before phase 2 opens up.  Phase 2 is off-world through a fold space.  There are ten locations that you can pick to go in phase 2.  Each location has a route to follow and a final location where you can pick up the prize.  The final location has a ‘boss’ you need to defeat.  If you can get the prize back to the fold space, and then back to a waiting Serf3 ship, you’ll have won.

		+	Five of the ten phase 2 locations have a shortcut you can use to bypass the final boss. However, the shortcuts themselves have a challenge you must pass to use it.

		+	During phase 1, you can visit up to 10 bars in the city. Once in a bar, you can receive information about one of the phase 2 locations - if they have a shortcut and the nature of the task to utilize it. You get five freebies where you can get this information for free at the bar. Otherwise, you must pass a challenge at the bar. Sometimes the challenge is obvious, and sometimes it isn’t.

		+	The prize is a credit chip with 10,000,000,000 credits on it. There is also a bonus prize. If nobody wins, then a random city on a randomly selected Serf planet will be the proud owner of a large fusion bomb delivered at high speed. If a Serf team kills another Serf team, then their planet will not be included in the possible pool of bonus prize recipients.

		+	==2026-08-16 - Singularity Sighting==

		+	As the team walked away, a timer appeared in all their individual comms - 8.4 kiloseconds. Nominally the countdown until the planned return of Gripper Of Things.

		+	Instead of a detailed discussion of what all this might mean with Sam the mentalist Hessler, the Owsla Irregulars instead grabbed ZAZLEBRAD the terrified Reptiloid professional technician and decided to break into the section of the Singularity Cruise housing the singularity.

		+	With the entire bar section watching in silent horror - and from as far away as possible - they coaxed Zazlebrad into using some forbidden tool to tamper open the ancient base-scale door. Inside was quite a sight.

		+	Dominating the massive interior volume - which consisted of paired conical sections vaulting to heights nobody had seen in their entire lives - was the eye-watering light-bending singularity-like entity that was the heart of RIHLAT ALTAFARUD. Strewn about the corners of this space was an H.R. Geiger-like accretion of alien organic technology, but as if you had walked into your nerdy single friend's room full of projects unannounced and nothing had even the slightest pretence of being of being straightened up. One far corner contained an especially large array of mess, -er projects. Populating this space were scores of biological robots - including the various kinds of harvesters previously seen occasionally in other section. But mostly dominated by 11 intermediate-scale "monsters".

		+	They appeared to be "reactive".

		+	==2026-08-21 - Big Fight==
		+
		+	The monsters all (but one large exception in the messiest area) focused on the team having opened the door. Negotiations were attempted after one monster demanded - in a halting manner - for the "illicit technology" to be turned over. It quickly became apparent that the monsters were only of animal intelligence and could only offer pre-programmed communication. And, more to the point, were clearly going to kill everybody at the door.

		+	BUT! Despite being massively outnumbered and technically out-gunned, the team managed to keep the engagement near the doorway, and forced the monsters through that choke point. Plus, with their augmented weapons the team had a clear skill advantage. And with Oliver's strength boosted up from "4" to "6" by Pramorg's new mentalist ability, he was literally able to punch above their weight class. Heltu's upgraded mortal wound capability turned the monsters they hit into anime gore fountains. Grenades were also useful.

		+	As the ref note mentions in the log: "yowsa". The GOT timer is down to 4.86 kiloseconds.

		+	==2026-08-30 - Walkabout==
		+
		+	Ignoring the remaining big monster apparently guarding Gripper Of Things hoard of horrors, the Owsla Irregulars changed direction entirely. They swung by the bar and picked up Poppa Hopper and trekked back towards Clan Chevobrog.

		+	Along the way, Pramorg boosted Zazlebrad's strength so that he was able to tamper the giant air locks. The first one gave an error, so they went deeper into Chevobrog. Before they could get to the further airlock, they were presented with a hero's welcome complete with a parade put on by the the Jack kids in costumes to look like their favourite team members.

		+	Disentagling themselves from the cuteness, they prodded the airlock to fully open and they went outside. From out there they could see why the other airlock had problems - a small planetoid's worth of matter had accreted and buried the central section of the Singularity Cruise. They clambered laboriously through the 5G gravity (riding on the strength-augmented Oliver and Heltu) and got a look at the source of the distress signal outside the the foldspace section. I appeared to be a slightly chewed on Nastidyne combat shuttle.

		+	Suspecting possible passive observation by beings in the foldspace section, Pramorg went to investigate alone. Tampering into the shuttle wasn't too difficult, and inside he saw ancient remains of a struggle to control the ship - Xoids had apparently beaten the mostly-robotic crew, but then their last members were all assassinated. Overall, despite being currently mostly-inert, the shuttle looked fully functional.

		+	The question then became - do they rush aboard the shuttle and flee before the whole station can be blueberried? Or do they stay. A short debate came to the consensus that they would all prefer to not be the indirect cause of everybody else on the Singularity Cruise dying. So they crept back, went to the bar, and got drinks.

		+	Sam fel like that was an appropriate time to mark them mentally.

		+	==2026-09-04 - Wait, They're Using What Now‽==
		+
		+	Preparing for the imminent return of Gripper Of Things and his prime security team, the Owsla Irregulars decide that the best location would be by the bar section guard stations adjacent to the fold space section. While waiting, Sam told them that they were indeed returning on schedule - and, by the way, they all had personal cloaking devices.

		+	A few long moments went by, where presumably Gripper Of Things discovered that most of his monsters had been destroyed and that his control over the bar section had been essentially crushed. Then, finally, one of the base-scale doors by the center of the bar section opened. Pramorg though he saw some shimmering distortions that might have been active cloaking devices.
		+
		+	Then a broadband EM communication from the general vicinity of the Kvankii stronghold stated "they went that way" including a vector showing where the team had gone. Everyone continued to wait and see.
		+
		+	Next the Underboss Palace flickered and had all its shield snap on. Immediately afterwards there was a loud staticy crash as the whole building fluxed with an annihilating electric stream, destroying everything inside. Not liking the looks of that, Pramorg checked the guard station they were in, and noticed that it also had conduits that could be transformed into an electric stream containment kill box. So the team snuck out, and started to engage the nearly-invisible security team.

		+	Pramorg's vaunted awareness allowed him to spot less-careful members of the strike team and point out their locations to Heltu and Oliver. Oliver charged and Heltu engaged at range, and they quickly brought down two of the strike team. A shock shooter with an extremely impressive armour-piercing weapon started causing significant harm to Oliver, as did some stray fire from other members of the security team.

		+	Then an assassin popped out and tried to finish off Oliver. Oliver didn't like this, and chased down the assassin. Unfortunately for the assassin, Gripper Of Things had been watching their inability to assassinate the big scary horse person, and decided to escalate remotely by causing their sentient weapon to release its AoE electric stream explosion. This almost killed Oliver, but it definitely caused the medic hopper (Brainy Hopper) to lose consciousness. It also ended to assassin, alas. Sensing that they were in great peril, Oliver shifted their mind and stages into Benji, their connected sentient weapon - just in case.

		+	The shock shooter raced over to finish off Oliver, and almost did. But, again, almost wasn't good enough for Gripper Of Things, so it also caused the shock shooter's sentient weapon to discharge the AoE electric death. This did take down Oliver, and turned Brainy Hopper into a delicious little bacon-like snack. The shock shooter themselves were not dead yet, and still posed a serious threat.

		+	This was Pramorg's sign to swoop in with their flight pack, grab the Oliver-weapon, and use it to cut the shock shooter into blood splattered bits.

		+	Awkwardly, even at -22 stamina, the technically mindless Equidon body rolled double-1's and became consious. Not nice.

		+	Enraged, Gripper Of Things was planning on sneaking away, getting the rest of the remaining monsters, and coming back to finish off the team. However they were goaded into revealing their location by a taunt from the team. After which Pramorg promptly painted GOT's location, and they were blasted to shreds by Heltu.

		+	==Epilogue==
		+
		+	This meant the team were technically able to assume the role of security lead for He Should Be Obeyed, but were without the necessary 5<sup>th</sup>-stage technician. And, of course, the scary-ass mantis robot appeared in the bar with them while they discussed possibilities. Zazlebrad was only 4<sup>th</sup>-stage technician, but did have a couple other stages - which he was talked into having converted by Sam (the creepy mentalist Hessler) into mentalist stages. Such that with appropriate prescience could shakily have insights sufficient to make up for the missing stage of technician in the fold space installations.

		+	And so the game closed with glory for all. The eventual changes to the Singularity Cruise and its inhabitants to be contemplated another time, along with a possible level-up of the characters to be considered for some future high-stage one-shot game.
