Cutting lasers are favourite light assassin weapons because of their armour-penetrating nature.

Like all lasers, they are narrow-beam weapons that emit radiation from the discharge mechanism in a thin ray. They achieve their cutting effect by emitting particles with "enhanced" momentum. When these particles hit the target, they tear through atomic bonds instead of just adding heat like a normal laser.

Unfortunately, they lack the stealthy acoustic qualities of normal lasers, but instead produce a piercing whine.
