Flame throwers are common assault weapons that deploy a combustible substance that burns the target.  The broad fan of flame makes it easy to hit targets (+6 to hit), and even allow the weapon to inflict full damage to several targets (up to 12).  Adding to their effectiveness, targets hit by a flame thrower (nicks do not count) continue to burn for 1D of damage per turn because of the combustible material deposited.  It takes 1D of action to put the flames out.  Maximum duration of burning is at the referees discretion, and depends on how flammable the target is.
