The assault blaster is, by far, the most common assault weapon. It is an extremely powerful weapon able to cause a significant amount of punishment in a short period of time.
As with other blast weapons, the discharge medium is photonic, bound by a magnetic containment shell. High-amplitude photons are generated by the standard micro-fusion power supply. The power supply may be intentionally overloaded to generate a explosion with a yield of twice the normal weapon damage, not including the multiplier (blast radius = 3m). The weapon uses a combination of a substantially reduced recharge time and a rotating sphere of focusing lenses to achieve the rapid fire effect.
As with all rapid fire weapons, these weapons give a bonus to hit and allow the user to spread the damage to a number of targets.
